    the hell!!

  • Joe Sposto says:

Like Keith Giffen’s PUNX we talked about on the pod, solicited as four issues, only three ever came out. Very similar topics, I’m sure!

  • Sean Mageean says:

Goldberg and Scarpelli are underrated –they did great work for Archie Comics and also DC teen humor mags like Swing With Scooter, Debbie, Binky, etc.

  • LouReedRichards says:

Sean, I think you’re on to something.

At the end of issue #3 Zak was seen talking all night with a girl believed to be from Earth-2.

So that’s probably why there is no issue #4.

  • Tom Cherry says:

Hopefully that poor kid jumped out the window and burnt his house to the ground.

  • ExistentialMan says:

I’ll never understand how some IP gets the full Hollywood/Network TV/Streaming treatment and properties like Kooshkins remain ignored and neglected in the dustbin of comics history.

Oh. Wait. Nevermind. I actually do.

  • Sean Mageean says:

Keith Giffen’s March Hare only had one issue released!

  • Mikester says:

I have a full run of March Hare!

  • Oliver says:

Peter Bagge anticipated the Koosh Kins with the panel of his in which the protagonist rails against a shop selling nothing but ‘Fuzzy-Wuzzles’.

    Love Giffen!

But NOT that one. Or Trencher.

Curious, he ripped off Lobo (who he co-created) with Trencher, but never did a LEGION rip-off.

“I have a full run of March Hare!”

I have the full run of Ambush Bug! All ten (?) issues!

Not much harder to collect than March Hare, really.

  • Snark Shark says:

oh, it’s 12 issues! One mini-series of 4 issues, one of SIX issues, and the 2 Specials.

  • Snark Shark says:

    “LEGION rip-off.”

and call it the Legion of Misfit Heroes!

  • Thom H. says:

So they all have human faces except the one who only has eyestalks, and he uses his hands as feet? No, thank you.

  • Sean Mageean says:

    @ Thom H.

That character with eyestalks seems like he could have been ripped off from a somewhat similar looking character that Wally Wood created that appeared as the narrator for some stories Wood did for Warren magazines in the ’70s (and also as a supporting character in Sally Forth comix); although the Wood character wasn’t fuzzy.

    @ Snark Shark

I think the “Legion of Misfit Heroes” should include:

    1. Oddman
    2. Ultra the Multi-Alien
    3. Brother Power the Geek
    4. Man-Bat
    5. Stompa
    6. Thorn
    8. Beppo
    9. And, as leader of the team, Danzig

  • Sean Mageean says:

    *7 Invisible Kid

  • Sean Mageean says:

    * Snorky is the name of the Wally Wood character with eyestalks. I think he first appeared in Witzend.

  • Thom H. says:

Snorky should join the Legion of Misfit Heroes. He could be the Proty of the group.

  • Snark Shark says:

I meant a “Legion” of his own characters, so Giffen could own it, as he did Trencher.

Otherwise, I’d say he should have done another Legion of Substitute Heroes Special!

  • Sean Mageean says:

    @ Snark Shark

Okay–I guess The Giffen “Legion of Misfit Heroes” could include:

Trencher, March Hare, Heckler, Ambush Bug, and Lobo — although technically DC owns some of those characters.

  • Pete says:

I have all three released issues. Ask me anything

  • Sean Mageean says:

    @ Pete

Are the three issues sufficient–or are there dangling plotlines which are irksomely left unresolved?

What are Koosh Kins anyway? Fuzzy meteors? Was it a toy line?

  • Snark Shark says:

    “Koosh Kins”

Sounds like drug slang to me!
