…is our anonymous felt-tip pen commentator referring to Conan or Conan’s lady friend, or is s/he jumping to conclusions based on the admittedly-handsome hands of the green scaly crypt-deity? We may never know.
Conan the Barbarian #52 (July 1975) – art by John Buscema, Tom Palmer, and John Romita)
It’s late May 1975 and Felt-tip Pen Commentator is in 8th grade health class. It’s hot and there are only two weeks of school left. Spontaneously, he ponders the babe-like attributes of Jenny-Sue Cheerleader who is sitting in the front row. Since the health teacher is also the PE teacher and football coach, the “no-talking” rule is understood by all. In order communicate his urgent insights with his best pal one row over, he uses the only tools at his disposal: 1) felt-tip pen and 2) Conan comic book. See, mystery solved.
looks like they wrote it closest to Conan, so… they think he’s hot!
Or may be it’s Conan’s female companion commenting on Conan.
Truely a mystery for the ages.
