Have I got some funny out-of-context comic panels for you!

…Like this one!

Man, who is Aunt May talking to? I don’t see anyone! She’s asking someone who’s not there to bring her a mop! That’s hilarious!

And get a load of this!

Doom clearly had someone on his staff specifically for going around his castle and lighting candles in the light fixtures. That’s totally crazy!

What’s going on in this next image?

Why, Archie’s about to be arrested for assaulting those three guys, of course! Boy, is he in trouble!

And check this out!

Three of the heroes are worried about their wives or girlfriends, while Batman has no woman in his life, and therefore only has to worry about his crimefighting partner, with whom he’s clearly shaken hands following a successful capture of an arch-criminal and passed on the “doom” described by the villain in that panel! Just goes to show you that there’s more than one way these evil fiends can trip up our favorite heroes!

And then in this panel:

…well, actually, I don’t get what’s funny about this one.

Atom’s standing on that bald dudes head WTF LOL

  • Roger Green says:

Archie didn’t say “beat up”, he said, “beat off”. I suspect he’ll be arrested for public lewdness, Riverdale being what it is.

  • kid nicky says:

Where WOULDN’T that be public lewdness?

  • Huh, I got a laugh of you making fun of people making fun of these panels since about ten years now. Was I right or am I reading too much into this?

  • Jake Wyckoff says:

There is a particular panel in a Captain America comic wherein the villain (not sure who) says “Captain America! I command you to–“; said panel also records the sound effect of Captain America’s shield hitting another villain (The Controller) as “WANK!” If the reader approaches the material with a certain insouciance (and a small knowledge of British slang), he (or she) may interpret the command of the first villain, combined with the sound effect, as an instruction for Captain America to masturbate. This is clearly hilarious. While the title of your post refers to “some funny out-of-context comic panels” and not “all funny out-of-context comic panels” (italics mine), I fell your failure to include this particular gem merits note.

It should likewise be noted that I (hilariously) failed to close my italics tag.

Does anyone know the issue number for that Amazing Spider-Man scene? I’ve of course found many references to it on Google but I can’t find the issue #.

Oh, now I get these. Thank you, Mr. Sterling.

  • Chris K says:

Hey! These comics featuring Man-Thing have more pages than the usual! (…but the extra pages actually feature a duck!!) Har!

  • Jay V says:

I’m “yukkin it up” over here as the kids say! I’ve never seen anyone mock these panels in all my years on the internet! You are a gentleman and a scholar.

Hey did you know they had a comic of that swamp monster called “Man-Thing” but it was like a “Giant Sized” issue so it said…BWAHAHAHA! Oh man, that must be why they calls ’em funny books.

PS: I don’t get that Joker one either.

    “Boner” meant “fuck-up”..

  • Frowny says:

This is the first time I’ve noticed that Batman looks like he’s naked with the bat-symbol tattooed on his chest.

  • ryard says:

Thank you! Now could you please explain what’s going on in the Superman’s a Dick webpage? Because I could swear his name is Clark.

  • Luke says:

I think you’re missing the humor of the Archie one. If you look at the way the characters are placed, they’re clearly standing roughly an equal distance from the shoreline, yet the other boys are waist-deep while Archie’s barely wet. In fact, he seems to be walking on the water! Archie is revealed as the son of God we always thought he would be; in “rescuing” Betty, he becomes her literal and spiritual salvation.

But wait! Archie/Christ is a figure of love, not violence; so what are we to make of his decision to “beat off” those poor heathens?
