I love The New Defenders! Alan Kupperberg was so good on that book, and Don Perlin was amazing once it got gritty and weird. So many fond memories…

To your point, I assume “PUNK!” is just the sound of his head hitting the floor? Or maybe it’s the end of his sentence? Definitely difficult to parse.

So he tripped over Valkyrie’s Pegasus, which is really small for some reason? Or is that some sort of ice sculpture that Iceman had just whipped up?

It is a nice sound effect! Sort of like a KER-PLUNK adapted for different circumstances.
