One step closer.
That would be the brand new floor just put into my shop, so now we can start putting in, you know, all that other stuff, like “fixtures” and “comics” and other luxuries.
The pricing of comics from the Increasingly Less-Vast Mikester Comic Archives continues apace as well, where I find myself preparing my run of Walt Simonson’s Thor for sale with some minor hesitance, while simultaneously discovering I cannot bear to part with my full run of Hex.
There is no explaining the human heart.
“Walt Simonson’s Thor ”
This has been reprinted in TPB form.
“my full run of Hex”
THIS WILL NEVER BE REPRINTED!
Ill take the entire simonson thor run here, now. what do you want?
That floor looks a lot like the floor I put in my house last year. You’ll be happy to know it holds up well, one year later. Granted, I didn’t have the general public walking on it every day, but got a feeling you’ll do just fine with that. Godspeed, sir.
I like the flooring, Mike, but was hoping you’d go with something like this…

Wow. Looks great, Mike. Nothing like a new canvas to paint comics on. :)

I feel your pain, Mike. I feel your pain…
The paper covering the windows and door is gonna give off a creepy/Adult books store vibe. You may want to reconsider that part.
Colin – I’m assuming you’re kidding, but seriously, everyone from all the neighboring stores liked nothing more than spending their breaks staring in the window and watching us paint walls, put down flooring, etc.
I promise the paper goes away when we open. I mean, I need to be able to display my TAROT posters somewhere.
Mike, I too drove by to peer in the window, but I’m a stalker like that. I’m stoked that you’re only a block away. One question. Will you be providing Financial Liberty advice too?

Looks great, sir! Nice looking pic. How many square feet is your store?
Yes, I was kidding. But I highly recommend putting a big sign between the paper and the window saying what is coming to get people excited (or some old X-Force and Spawn issues). On the corner near me they gutted and rebuilt a building for 3 months with zero indication of what was going in there. (Noodles & Co, Sports Clips and Einstein Bagels in case you were wondering)
BTW I did the laminate floor and have been thrilled with it. Stock up on Swiffers at Sam’s Club and you’ll be set.
Brad – no one wants tax advice from me. Trust me.
Roel – It’s about 1400 square feet, 900 in front, 500 in back.
