  3. Is that low hanging cold cut kosher?

    Kosher supervision is provided by either a national agency, a local board of kashrut, or an individual Orthodox Rabbi.

    Or, obviously, Popeye.

  4. Saw that cartoon as a kid and found it fairly upsetting. Stupid Tom Hatten.

    And I can’t prove it, but I’m pretty sure that gag was used more than once in a Popeye cartoon.

  7. philip, the other cartoon you’re thinking of is Bulldozing the Bull. Also the gag was used in a clip cartoon (“Lemme tells ya about some adventures I had…”)

    I remember the gag b/c I thought it was cool seeing Hebrew in a Popeye cartoon.
