Halloweenish links for all you Halloweenies.
- Pal Dorian’s been looking at classic spooky movies all month with some nice analytical reviews. This particular one is finally going to get me off my duff and rent the darn thing, after being curious about some of the stills I’ve seen from this film over the years.
- Bully, the Little Stuffed Bull Who Is Being Chased Through A Hall in and out of Lots of Doors While Pop Music Plays, dares to bring us Scooby Doo Week. And it would have worked, too, if it weren’t for that meddling bull!
- Andrew is in the midst of his Halloween Countdown, where you can find this terrible, terrible thing.
- And Mag over at Comic Treadmill is counting down to the 31st with some swell scary covers. Like this fantastic one.
Night of the Demon is a fun chiller-thriller with a good old fashioned monster. If you’ve seen Drag Me To Hell by Sam Raimi then you’ll notice an incredible action sequence in NOTD that he ripped off/homaged wholesale. I won’t say which ‘cuz it might ruin it for ya.
I’ll also weigh in support for Night of the Demon/Curse of the Demon. Well-made and intelligent, it’s 90 minutes you won’t regret.
Curse of the Demon will air on TCM early Monday morning Oct 17th at 2:15 AM Eastern time. That’s late Sunday night if you’re on the West coast; which is actually tonight, then.
Oops, TCM’s schedule tricked me. The film actually airs overnight Monday night/Tuesday morning as a part of their Halloween Horror block.
