Adam West Batman is the best Batman.
“There’s one thing in life you should learn, is to listen to your father and mother.
And I don’t think they’d approve of your association with Shame.”
And I don’t think they’d approve of your association with Shame.”
“You’re right Batman. I should have known better.
But after all, I’m only seven years old.”
But after all, I’m only seven years old.”
“You’re never too young to learn the difference between Good and Evil.”
“Let’s go, Robin…we’ve set another youth on the road to a brighter tomorrow!”
You do God’s work, Mike Sterling.
In a word, “no.”
Holy cornball life lessons, Batman!
I assume everyone knows that Batman ’66 is now airing on the new kids channel “The Hub”?
Well said, citizen. Well said.
You mean there’s another Batman?
Who is shame?
Nate, he’s the guy who refused to come back at the end of the episode when he was riding off.
And that boy grew up to be the know-it-all kid on The Poseidon Adventure…
Amen, Pastor Mike. I dig his yellow girdle with the pockets on it.
I kinda feel the same way about George Reeves/Superman. Christopher Reeve is a VERY VERY close 2nd.
@ Nate, Shane was played by Cliff Robertson.
Would have been better if the gunslinger was Yul Brenner from Westworld.
No argument here.
Also, Adam West Batman is more of a badass than you think. In evidence, I offer the telephone conversation with the Joker in “Flop Goes the Joker”.
As Joe Bob Briggs would say, check it out.
He is the Captain James T. Kirk of Batmans.
Just watched this last night. In a word, brilliant.
They did do the absolute best they could with what they had. No other live-action Batman production can say the same.
Musta been the kid’s hat that did it but at first,I read “Shane” for shame and thought, “What the heck..?”
I know Shane, “Shane! Shane!” I was wondering if the character in the episode was named Shame (a riff on that)? If so, brilliant! If not, great typo! Either way,fun stuff.
To clarify: the name of the villain in this episode is Shame, and was an intentional riff on the movie Shane.
I recently attended the first Wizard World con to come to New Orleans and the only reason I was willing to pay $30 to enter was that Burt Ward and Adam West were there. They did a Q&A panel and were great with wonderful senses of humor. They also had a booth for photos and autographs. I didn’t pay for those since I already have their signatures from way back in the mid 70s when I went to the World of Wheels to see the TV Batmobile and Adam and Burt were there, too. I remember waiting in line and being truly awestruck once I finally got up to meet them. That’s what happens when the original ABC network airings of the series imprint themselves on your 3-4 year old brain. I will always love those guys!
