“My Beloved Gelatino” — coming soon to the CW.

So my best pal, Bully the Little Bull with All the Stuffins, remembered my longtime fondness for the greatest of all Dungeons & Dragons monsters, the Gelatinous Cube, despite my not mentioning it much lately (but please enjoy this site category link). As a result, he tweeted this panel at me from the nigh-forthcoming mini-series You Are Deadpool, a “Choose-Your-Own-Adventure” style funnybook:

Said Gelatinous Cube reference fuzzily resized for your viewing convenience:

Now, what exactly a “+3” cube would be, I’m not sure, because the last time I played D&D, back in Ye Olden Tymes, a “+(x)” designation was more for weapons and items, not for living creatures. Perhaps Deadpool is being, as shocking as it may seem, less then accurate about D&D terms for humorous effect. HOW DARE HE JOKE ABOUT MY BELOVED GELATINO–er, anyway.

Thanks to Bully for keeping the Cube faith alive…and allowing me to resurrection this much-neglected category on my site!

  • Turan, Emissary of the Fly World says:

Off-topic, obviously, and a bit of a spoiler, but was anyone else as surprised and delighted as I to see Powerhouse Pepper defeat Thanos and save the day in INFINITY WAR? How did Marvel manage to keep that a secret? You would have thought someone would have noticed Dwayne Johnson turning up at the set.

  • Brian says:

Turan, I was just pleased to see the role that delicious Hostess Fruit Pies played in his defeat!

  • Man, I avoid all social media to know nothing about the film, and then its spoiled by an “off-topic” remark on Mighty Mike’s message board. Kind of hard to write bit of a spoiler when the spoiler is on the next line.

Good thing I don’t know who Powerhouse Pepper is! I do know about Hostess Fruit Pies, though!

  • Former Employee Nathan says:

Gelatino to be played CW heartthrob Ian Somerhalder.

  • Turan, Emissary of the Fly World says:

Powerhouse Pepper is simply the greatest Marvel character ever. That is all you need to know.

  • Dean says:

I was surprised that Infinity War was a musical! Who would have guessed that Josh Brolin had such pipes? And Groot’s big aria? Mesmerizing!

  • Bully says:

I’m glad you fit this in, Mike! There’s always room for Gelatinous Cube.
